Shadow Corpses are corpses found throughout the Hyper Light Drifter world that are seeping with shadow energy.
They are often holding Keys, weapons or Outfits that The Drifter can pick up by interacting with them. It could be that a portion of these corpses were drifters themselves, an example being the one you get the white outfit from. This corpse also has some resemblance to the NPC you meet in the woods, who tells you about The Hanged Man, the boss of this area. The only thing linking this NPC to being a drifter though, is that he has two light swords and a helmet that hides his identity/ species.
