The Special Grenade is a grenade that The Drifter can roll across the ground and will, a second later, explode.
It has a large explosion range and deals 3 DMG to all enemies within its range. It can not hit enemies if they are behind a wall or pillar and the explosion is on the other side. It recharges over time (70 seconds ea.) but the charge time can be decreased with one of the Orange outfit pieces (to 50 seconds).
You can purchase the Special Grenades from The Tech Shop, one for 2 Gearbit packs and another for 3.
When attempting to throw a Special Grenade in Central Town, the Drifter will throw a small purple object (candy, food, shotgun shells, paper?) onto the ground.

Note of Warning: When thrown, the Special Grenade spawns from a point slightly behind the Drifter in the opposite direction of its intended trajectory ie if intending to throw it to the right, the grenade appears slightly to the left). If the Drifter is standing flush against a wall or barrier and attempts to throw it directly away from the wall or barrier, the Grenade will spawn inside the wall, preventing it from moving forward, and preventing its blast from affecting any opponents.

In the early stages the Special Grenade was originally a tiny explosive weapon that would seek out enemies before detonating.
